Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Pat the cod fillets dry with a paper towel. This helps the seasoning stick. 6 cod fillets
In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, parsley, and onion powder. 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper, ½ teaspoon dried parsley, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Brush the fillets with melted butter and drizzle with lemon juice. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the fillets. 2 tablespoons melted butter, 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
Place the fillets in the baking dish and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F when done. The exact timing will depend on the thickness of the fillets. Thin fillets may cook in as little as 5-6 minutes.
Serve immediately with lemon wedges and fresh herbs such as parsley. lemon wedges

Loralei Loucakis on 2026-10-01 (5 stars): Super Easy and Delicious! We used large filets of Pacific Cod from Costco and it turned out perfect! The filets were very thick so we increased the bake time to 12 minutes.
Judith Watson on 2026-08-01 (5 stars): I loved this recipe. It was so easy and very tasty. I like the seasoning so much that I’m going to make a jar of it to keep on the shelf.
Jude on 2026-05-14 (5 stars): the best simple cod recipe. we've been eating a lot of fish lately and my husband i agreed that your recipe produced the most excellent results. thank you, julie.
Brian on 2026-02-25 (5 stars): There is a difference in other white fish. They are not all the same. Sturgeon Halibut, sea bass all different. There are other recipes that would work better for some. But this is a good fundamental recipe that could work with most. But I think it is most suitable for cod which is a blank canvas and the spices work well here.

Ellissa on 2025-11-08 (1 stars): Not very tasty. Lemon juice would have worked by itself just fine
Eric Sanders on 2025-10-24 (5 stars): Do not over cook. Follow the instructions and you'll do great 👍
Karen on 2025-10-21 (5 stars): Delicious!!! I used half melted butter and half olive oil. It was fast, easy, and tasted incredible. While the fish was baking, I steamed a bag of mixed string beans. Spread them on my plate, drizzled in a little olive oil, Mrs. Dash, and lemon. Placed the cooked fish on top of the string beans, and surrounded it with some fresh grape tomatoes. Looked and tasted restaurant quality!
Kathy on 2025-09-24 (5 stars): This was super easy and it only took 6 minutes to bake in our air fryer. Wonderful.
Laura on 2025-06-19 (5 stars): This was absolutely delicious. I am a seasoned cook of many decades, but for some reason, I am always intimidated by fish. The directions were so easy, and I really appreciate you giving the proper temp. My husband loved it, and he said you can use that seasoning on wings if you want. Lol, maybe I will. This will be my go to recipe. Thanks
