Recipe VIDEO above. A fabulous quick stir fry made using beef mince (ground beef) <<-- No slicing meat! It's not saucy like usual stir fries, you don't need sauce because the beef mixes through the rice, and it has plenty of flavour and it's JUICY. Great recipe to add diced or julienned veggies!

Steps
Mix Sauce together in a bowl
Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add garlic and onion, cook for 1 minute or until onion starts browning.
Add beef and cook, breaking it up as you go.
Once the beef has all changed from red to brown, add Sauce. Cook for a further 2 minutes, or until Sauce has evaporated and beef is cooked. If you want the beef cooked more, add a splash of water and keep cooking (I don't do this).
Stir through shallots, then serve over rice, garnished with more shallots and sesame seeds, if desired. Or for a low carb, low cal option, try Cauliflower Rice!

Panther on 2025-11-08 (5 stars): Such a great basic recipe. I always add ginger and half or less the amount of sugar to this recipe but aside from that…
You could easily mix in veggies, chillis, or any other sauces. whatever you are in the mood for or have on hand. This has became part of my regular rotation. Love this recipe! Try it as is, then mix it up. Such an easy and forgiving recipe. Very craveable. Very satisfying!
Roseanne E Freese on 2025-09-25 (5 stars): This dish was very tasty and quick and easy to make. The shallots took it to another level. And I was surprised that with all the sauces for making the gravy, it was not too salty. FYI, as my ground beef was on the fatty side, I spooned off the extra fat after browning the meat. I also served it with rice and a Malaysian stir fried cabbage dish, so the balance of meat and vegetable was spot on. I will definitely make this again.
Lauren on 2025-09-04 (5 stars): Delicious recipe added spinach and red capsicum to it to add more veg. Was able to whip this up with what I had at home. Really happy with the outcome - Thanks Nagi
Katie Jones on 2025-07-30 (5 stars): Amazing recipe!! This one is on regular rotation in our house - served with rice. We do like it with a bit more sauce, so I double the sauce quantity. I also like to sneak in more vege, so I include 250g chopped frozen spinach at the beginning.
Lisa on 2025-07-21 (5 stars): Made this one for dinner tonight as i had some mince that needed using. Made 1.5 serves of the sauce, taste stretched it out with a grated zucchini and added bok choi. Served with seasoned rice (sushi rice seasoning). More than enough for 2 adults and a toddler with some left over for my husband's lunch. It was delicious, thanks!
Briana on 2025-07-16 (5 stars): Tasty, flavorful beef recipe! I paired with rice, mung bean sprouts and spring pea chili crunch salad.
Laura on 2025-07-06 (5 stars): Made this tonight for my family and served with Jasmine Rice. Absolutely delicious!! I added some diced red capsicum and a few handfuls of a stirfry salad mixture (finely cut carrot, cabbage, baby spinach etc). It was enjoyed by all and will definitely make again.

As you can imagine, I was not in the mood for cooking but couldnt justify throwing food out because I didn’t feel like cooking. This was simple, quick and delish! Lunch is sorted for tomorrow!
