  1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.
  2. Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt and pepper, and spread on a rimmed baking sheet. Make sure they have plenty of room so they brown nicely. 
  3. Roast 20 minutes, stirring halfway. They should be tender and browned.
  4. While the sprouts are roasting, combine maple syrup and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.
  5. Pour the maple syrup/cayenne mixture over the sprouts, stir to coat, and return the pan to oven for five more minutes. Serve immediately.
