I remember the first time I traveled abroad with my husband, and we were staying in a hotel in Germany. He was so excited for the hotel breakfast. Why, I asked him, hotel breakfast is always so terrible. He looked at me completely confused. 🤨 When we came down to breakfast, I saw why. . There were cold cuts and cheeses 🧀, a fruit section that would make Whole Foods bow 🍊, perfectly baked strudel and other pastries 🥐, sausages , and eggs cooked to order (yes, fresh—not sitting in a metal container, freshly stirred with water and powder 😩). . Meanwhile, in the US? You serve yourself from a sad buffet lineup with disposable cutlery and paper plates. 🥄🍽️ Nothing screams luxury quite like a soggy waffle on a paper plate, right? . ❓So now I have to ask: Is this just chain hotels in the US? Is it a California thing? Tell me in the comments—are hotel breakfasts this bad everywhere in the US? 🥴 Please, someone tell me there’s a place in the US where you can drop $300 a night and get more than moldy oranges 🍊, powdered eggs 🍳, and bagels that could double as a hockey puck. .
