cookingwithcocktailrings on December 23, 2024: "Serendipityâs frozen hot chocolate is a classic NYC treat that hits the spot no matter the season! Blended hot chocolate topped with unsweetened whipped cream (trust me, it makes all the difference) and chocolate shavings, served in a goblet big enough to share. đŤ The iconic Serendipity 3 has been a sweet escape for decades, drawing everyone from locals to Jackie Kennedy herself! For me, itâs all about stepping through their doors, past the glittery trinkets, and into the buzz of people waiting for a taste of this indulgent drink. Have you tried it yet? Comment âRECIPEâ below and Iâll send this frozen hot chocolate recipe straight to your inbox! âď¸ FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE âď¸ Ingredients: 1 cup whole milk 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder 3 tablespoons granulated sugar â  teaspoon table salt Whipped cream, as needed (homemade whipped cream recommended) 2 tablespoons milk chocolate shavings, for garnish Instructions: 1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat bring the milk to a simmer. Add the semi-sweet chocolate, hot chocolate mix, granulated sugar, and table salt, whisking, until the chocolate has completely melted. 2. Remove the pot from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature. To quickly cool the mixture create an ice bath by adding the hot chocolate to a small mixing bowl. Fill a larger mixing bowl part-way with ice water and set the smaller bowl inside the ice water until cooled to room temperature. 3. Add the cooled chocolate mixture and 3 cups of ice to a blender and blend until completely combined, adding a bit more milk if the mixture is too thick. 4. Pour the mixture into a large glass or mug and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Serve with straws and spoons.".
