And also, DO YOU CARE if you're having REAL ube or not? 💜 This was originally just an ube halaya (ube jam) recipe, but I HAD to share this! The full video is on my YouTube channel (link in bio)! 🤯 Chances are, you may not have had real ube yet if you're here in the U.S. It's pretty rare to find here. 👀 I had a REALLY hard time making ube desserts with just ube extract. Ube halaya jars and powders are either sold out or VERY PRICEY. 🍠 I knew I had to use the actual yam itself eventually, but I. Just. Couldn't. Find. It. 🤷🏻♀️ I personally LOVE purple sweet potato, and I use it in my ginataan (Filipino coconut milk dessert), eat it with honey, or use it in my "ube" jam recipes. It may not TECHNICALLY be ube, but if it's delicious and purple, I really don't mind 🥰 Ube Photo Attributions: • “Photograph of rounded brownish tuber” by Obsidian Soul on Wikipedia is licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0. • “Sliced purple yam from Réunion” by Remi Tournebize on Wikipedia is licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0. #ube #purpleyam #ubehalaya #filipinofood #desserts #dessertporn #asiancuisines #filipinodessert".
