Steps
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Place an oven safe 3-5 quart Dutch oven or heavy bottom pot over medium heat. Add the bacon and cook until crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat. If there is a lot of fat in the pot, drain off all but 1 tablespoon. To the bacon, add the cannellini beans, pinto beans, peaches, BBQ sauce, maple syrup, bourbon, balsamic dijon mustard, chipotle chili powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Give everything a good stir to combine.
Place in the oven and bake for about 45 minutes or until the sauce has thicken and is bubbly. Serve warm with fresh basil.

Ash on 2025-07-13 (5 stars): These are my go-to barbecue stunner! I have a tendency to lean too far into the spicy realm with the chipotle and chosen bbq sauce, so be cautious! They’re just soooo good.
Pro Tip: Smoke them if you have the tools and know how. I prepare them, and my husband smokes them.
Silke Dittmer on 2025-06-18 (5 stars): I added zucchini and red lentils instead of pinto beans and
Instead of peaches I used dried apricots, I had in stock
Catherine Andriadis on 2024-09-20 (5 stars): This is one of my favorites! Everyone always asks for these beans. They are sooo good!
Thank you.
Deb on 2024-07-04 (4 stars): I would have given this recipe a 5 star rating but the original recipe was way too hot and peppery for our family. So by cutting the pepper amount down to 1/3 of the amount worked perfectly for us. I used Sweet Baby Ray’s sweet and spicy barbecue sauce which may have added additional spicy heat. I’ve made this dish before on numerous occasions!
