Chocolate Delight, Chocolate Heavenly Dessert, Chocolate layered dessert
- In a medium bowl combine flour, melted butter, vanilla extract, and pecans if using. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- In your prepared 9×13 inch baking dish, press dough down using a fork or your clean fingers, making sure to cover the bottom of the pan and all the way to the edges. The dough will be thin but it will rise a bit in the oven.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until lightly golden brown. Allow to cool completely.
- While crust is cooling combine cream cheese and powdered sugar in a medium bowl until smooth. Fold in 1 cup of cool whip, being careful not to over-mix. You want the mixture to be light and fluffy.
- In second bowl whisk chocolate pudding mix and milk until thickened. This takes about 2 minutes.
- Layer dessert by spreading first the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled crust, making sure it covers all the crust. Next add the chocolate pudding and carefully spread over the cream cheese mixture being mindful not to mix the two together. Finally, top with the remaining 2 cups of cool whip, again being careful not to combine with the chocolate layer. Shave chocolate over the top if desired for presentation.
- Cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours and up to 24 hours. Slice and enjoy!
