Monica on 2023-11-15 (5 stars): #1 is my fav. I make my own gochujang. This recipe is a keeper. Thank you so much.
Helen on 2023-07-16 (5 stars): Thanks for sharing this recipe. I will never buy the store-bought sauce ever. This sauce is always a hit when I do Korean bbq with friends and family. I even use it in sandwiches. The walnut in the sauce gives it an uplifted flavor! Note: I don't use the apples when I make the recipe because it does not taste better after 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
Bill in Oregon on 2023-04-23 (5 stars): Well, this is delicious. I have store bought ssamjang. I put it in chicken broth & cooked my ramen noodle lunch it that. Outstanding! I don't know if that was a novice mistake? but it made the broth a beautiful color & the flavor is slurp worthy. My first time with this condiment but def not the last......Regards
Brian on 2021-06-19 (5 stars): Thank you so much for your excellent recipes. Your bibimbap sauce has been a family favourite for some time, and we tried this ssamjang recipe today to go with samgyeopsal. We can't get doenjang locally unless we go up to Melbourne, though gochujang is available, but my wife is Japanese, so we always have miso in the house, and used red miso instead. Turned out really well. Thanks again. Look forward to trying more recipes

Amanda on 2020-06-14 (5 stars): This is so yummy! I usually canβt have ssamjang since the store bought stuff has wheat in it, but I found some gluten free gochujang and used the miso I had on hand, omitting nuts due to an allergy in the family. It was a little runnier than the store bought, but the flavor is fabulous β perfect for some galbi in lettuce wraps. I am a happy camper right now. π
