Combine the flour, eggs, milk and salt in a large bowl and whisk to combine. Whisk it until it's smooth and there are no lumps.
Pour the batter into small rounds onto a hot, lightly greased skillet and flip after about 20 to 30 seconds. Let cook for an additional 15 to 20 seconds.
Serve hot with maple syrup on top. Enjoy!

Angie Sylvester on 2026-05-11 (5 stars): I cant thank you enough! My granny made me these pancakes. I haven't had rubbery pancakes in 25 years. I was the only one who loved granny's pancakes, they didnt soak up the syrup and I loved the texture and taste. My family teased me about them and noone has been able to duplicate them for me till this morning. I'm beyond ecstatic and all emotional with the memories. Thank you. Perfect rubber pancakes!!!
Nicole on 2026-03-01 (5 stars): My 9 year old wanted to make the recipe she saw Mummy Pig making on the Peppa Pig cartoon, but of course we had to check measurements. Here they were, and we put maple syrup on them and enjoyed them BECAUSE they're not fluffy. Thanks!

Emily on 2026-02-07 (5 stars): These are SO good and EXACTLY as described. I’m sure it’s annoying for you, but I was laughing at all of the “negative” reviews about the exact pancake that you described. People can be a bit dense sometimes . Thanks for sharing!
Cat on 2025-09-25 (1 stars): Really bad! No taste and spongy
Gina on 2025-07-10 (5 stars): My grandma made what I called rubber pancakes when I was a child. I loved them because they didn't absorb the syrup and didnt get mushy. I never thought I would ever get to have them again...and here they are! So good!
Carmen on 2025-06-01 (5 stars): they are so easy to make
Grace on 2025-04-19 (5 stars): I was never very fond of pancakes, so I wasn't sure if I was going to like these when my younger brother suggested we try our hand at making them. They are incredibly addictive, though, and I find I appreciate the fact that they're not on the rich side. Sometimes my stomach isn't up to anything too overwhelming. I suggest that, if you're going to make this recipe, you take a little bit of time to explore how you like it best. The cook time in the recipe wasn't enough for me, but 40-50 seconds on each side is perfect (depends on the thickness and size of each pancake; mine are a little bigger, I suspect). Perfect plain or with 焼き芋あん。Thank you for sharing this recipe!
